Whether you're electrifying your acoustic, upgrading your electric, or searching for stage-ready clarity, Fishman has a pickup for the job. Known for their innovation and studio-grade performance, Fishman pickups have become the gold standard for players who want more control, less noise, and a cleaner signal across every genre.
At AMS, you’ll find a full range of Fishman pickups, from the multi-voice Fluence series for electric guitars to the Rare Earth and PowerTap systems for acoustics. We also carry instrument-specific transducers and onboard preamps that bring out the best in everything from nylon-string guitars to mandolins and violins.
Since the early 1980s, Fishman has been on a mission to help musicians sound their best. What started with a single acoustic preamp quickly evolved into a full lineup of groundbreaking amplification solutions trusted by players across every genre.
From the busker on a street corner to the guitarist headlining a sold-out tour, Fishman pickups are everywhere. Why? Great engineering paired with a real understanding of what guitarists need. It's no surprise they’ve become the go-to for players who demand tone that’s true to their hand.
Fishman pickups cover a lot of ground; electric, acoustic, and everything in between. Here’s what you’ll find in stock at AMS.
These aren’t your average humbuckers. Fishman Fluence pickups offer multi-voice flexibility, no hum, and consistent tone across every string. Choose from modern active styles, classic PAF voicings, or artist signature sets from names like Tosin Abasi, Mick Thomson, Devin Townsend, and Mike Inez.
Fishman’s Rare Earth and PowerTap pickups sit right in the soundhole and capture rich, detailed acoustic tone with minimal feedback. Whether you're fingerpicking or strumming hard, they keep your dynamics intact and your soundstage clear.
Presys and Prefix onboard preamps combine a pickup and control panel for volume, EQ, and notch filtering, ideal for stage-ready acoustic-electric guitars. They're compact, clean, and tour-tested.
For classical guitar, violin, mandolin, and other acoustic instruments, Fishman’s piezo and transducer options mount under the saddle or soundboard for accurate, transparent tone that doesn’t get in the way of your playing style
Each set of Fishman pickups uses stacked printed circuit boards instead of traditional wire-wound coils. That means you get multiple voicings, zero hum, and consistent output, without the tonal compromises of passive designs.
Here’s how to find your match:
Still sorting out the details? These common questions about Fishman pickups can help clear things up.
Fishman pickups, especially the Fluence series, use modern circuit board construction instead of wound wire coils. This gives them multiple voicings, no hum, and consistent tone across every string and fret.
Most Fishman pickups are active and require a power source, typically a rechargeable battery pack or 9V. This design allows for enhanced clarity, gain control, and multi-voice options you won’t find in passive pickups.
They do. With a push-pull pot or toggle, you can switch between different tonal characters — like vintage PAF vs. hot-rodded humbucker — without changing pickups or losing output balance.
