Boundary Microphones
A boundary mic sits flat on a surface and uses the reflection from that surface to capture sound in a wide, consistent pickup pattern. That design makes boundary microphones ideal for conference tables, theater stages, podiums, and kick drums, where a traditional stand-mounted mic would be impractical or visually intrusive. A boundary microphone for stage use picks up dialogue, footwork, and ambient sound across a wide area with minimal visible hardware.
