Eight 4th Gen mic preamps offer a stunning 69dB of gain, enabling clean recordings from even the quietest sources. Two Hi-Z instrument inputs and 8 line inputs provide ample flexibility for connecting guitars, synths, and outboard gear. Re-engineered Air mode adds harmonic richness and presence to vocals and acoustic instruments, simulating the character of a classic studio console. The Auto Gain feature intelligently sets input levels in seconds, perfect for quickly configuring sessions. The 18i20 includes a built-in talkback mic, LED bar metering assignable to inputs/outputs, and master output meters to streamline session management. Monitor group support, which is now available across Scarlett 16i16, 18i16, and 18i20 4th Gen models, enables easy setup of 2.1, 5.1, or other multi-speaker configurations.
Control Software & Mobile App Integration
Focusrite’s Control 2 software handles routing, level adjustments, monitor mixes, and more — with an intuitive desktop interface. Compatible iOS and Android apps allow performers and engineers to remotely adjust mic preamp gains and monitor mixes. Multi-channel Auto Gain is also available on mobile, keeping engineers focused on monitoring the performance without constant trips to the computer.
Included Software Update
Pro Tools Intro+ for Focusrite is replacing the current 3-month trial of Pro Tools Artist included with Scarlett 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, and Clarett+ audio interfaces. Unlike the trial, Pro Tools Intro+ for Focusrite is a perpetual license which does not expire.
Avid has enhanced the existing Pro Tools Intro by bundling it with effects, instruments, and sounds available only in this iteration of Pro Tools Intro, hence the name Pro Tools Intro+ for Focusrite. This bundle is available to all Scarlett 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, and Clarett+ owners without any purchase date restrictions.
