The cutting edge of Ibanez design, the S series continues to be a marvel of form and function. Its signature body shape - sculpted, lightweight, and mahogany - is stronger and more musically responsive than guitars weighing twice as much. The S series is still a rock 'n' roll version of a quick, graceful, and potentially lethal weapon.
“Designed to Inspire”, all Ibanez Premium series are manufactured with select tone woods, high-profile electronics, hardware and dedicated skills of craftsmanship and care in details for your musical journey. The richness of sound, stunning appearance and unrivalled playability of the Ibanez Premium series will open the gate of your reservoir of inspiration.
Wizard 5-Piece Maple/Walnut neck
Ibanez's thin, flat and fast Wizard neck is strong and sturdy and offers unlimited playability for demanding players.
Ebony fretboard
Ebony produces tight lows and mid range with a strong attack in the high end and features a quick response and rich sustain.
Jumbo Stainless Steel frets with Premium fret edge treatment
Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response and effortless articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes.
The Premium Fret Edge Treatment offers a super smooth, comfortable performance.
Poplar Burl top / African Mahogany body
A stunning Poplar Burl top and African Mahogany body provide a warm tone with rich resonance.
DiMarzio Fusion Edge and DiMarzio True Velvet Pickups
Through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio, Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp, cutting high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid-range. DiMarzio True Velvet pickup produces a warm response yet great clarity.
Gotoh machine heads
Gotoh machine heads provide superior precision, a smooth feel, and excellent tuning accuracy.
Edge tremolo
The masterpiece Edge bridge offers exceptional tuning stability, precise intonation adjustment, and playing comfort.
Luminescent side dots
The luminescent side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fretboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
Gig bag included
It comes with Ibanez gig bag which is designed specifically to fit and protect this instrument.
S40THP special block inlay
Ruby red Mother of Pearl / Abalone block inlays commemorate the 40th anniversary of S series.
