HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE AND SPL The ability to withstand a staggering 135dB of SPL without internal padding makes the LS-208 a perfect choice for extremely loud and dynamic sound sources. Even at close proximity, the sound of the LS-208 remains astonishingly natural and life-like.
ANALAG SOUND SHAPING Two dedicated filters allow for immediate sound-shaping right at the source, removing the need to change out microphones in order to get the sound you want. Record a tight and bright snare drum or a dark and sultry vocal at the flip of a switch.
PREMIUM COMPONENTS The LS-208 signal path is finalized with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors and resistors, a USA made FET, and a custom wound output transformer. The result is a natural and true-to-life sound with exceptional isolation and transient reponse.

One thing for sure is that you need plenty of gain for this mic. I’ve had It for little over a month and so far it hasn’t disappointed me at all. It’s great on overheads. Read the reviews, Lauten hit a home run with this. Great for vocals, drums, percussion guitar and everything else. Rejects room reflections like a dynamic mic but gives you the detail of a top shelf condenser.

Killer Snare Mic!
Don't be afraid of putting this microphone on loud sources. I've been digging this mic on snare top for some time now and it sounds finished! hi-hat bleed is minimal and I don't need an external pad! Wonderful mic with nice case and shockmount.
