The Subharmonicon is a Semi-Modular Polyrhythmic Analog Synthesizer and the newest addition to Moog’s semi-modular family. With 2x VCOs, 4x Subharmonic Generators, 2x sequencers, & 4x Rhythm Generators, it creates a rich harmonic kaleidoscope that divides into itself until everything that is up becomes down.

Since its original introduction in 2018 as an ultra limited edition build-it-yourself kit (only 120 pieces worldwide!), the Subharmonicon has been one of the most requested public releases from the Moog Synthesizer community.

Today, Moog is proud to share with our partners that the Subharmonicon has been redesigned for an unlimited global release.

Very tough to learn but super rewarding to play

Absolutely love the Subharmonicon, I pair it with a DFAM and go to town. Once you get the hang of how each main oscillator works and get it all in tune, the sky's the limit, I wouldn't reccomend this as a beginner synthesizer or main voice for your setup but if you want to experienment with chords a...

    I love it!

This is starting to become my favorite synth and I’m just barely scratching the surface. It’s not for everyone so definitely watch some videos, not a normal synth with a steeper learning curve, but once you get it there’s endless possibilities!

    Moog Subharmonicon

Only regret is that I didn't splurge for the full set of three units. Don't share my sadness. Make the right move. Also, a reverb/delay pedal is highly recommended, I chose the Eventide H9. Both units are Top Shelf products. 0% financing on both, couldn't be happier!

    An experiment in performance

The subharmonicon is one of the most unique synths I have had the pleasure of owning. It demands a great deal of exploration in order to fully appreciate the scope of its potential. As with any instrument, the more time you devote to it, the more you’re going to get out of it. Use the patch sheets t...

Still in the process of learning

There is a learning curve and I am still not completely sure what the result will be once I’ve learned, but I can’t stop twiddling or take my headphones off. It’s as fun an instrument as I have ever attempted to understand. This is a keeper.
