Taylor 314ce Studio – Your All-Solid-Wood Ticket to the Big Leagues

Let's talk about that moment. The moment a guitarist graduates from playing a guitar to wielding a true musical partner. The Taylor 314ce Studio is that moment, bottled. This isn't just an "entry-level" American-made Taylor; it's your all-access pass to the world of all-solid-wood tone, a world where every note you play vibrates with warmth, richness, and complexity. It features Taylor's legendary Grand Auditorium body — the Swiss Army knife of acoustic shapes — making it a perfect companion for delicate fingerstyle, robust strumming, and everything in between. Paired with Taylor's premium electronics, this guitar is ready for any stage, studio, or solemn midnight songwriting session you can throw at it.

Taylor 314ce Studio The Secret Sauce of Sustain

The Secret Sauce of Sustain and Sonic Sweetness

So, what makes this guitar sing like a choir of angels that just won the lottery? Two words: V-Class bracing. This revolutionary internal architecture, hidden just beneath the top, is the secret to the 314ce's incredible volume, near-perfect intonation, and sustain that seems to last for days.

When you’re ready to plug in, the groundbreaking Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics capture all that gorgeous acoustic nuance without the squashed, sterile sound of old-school piezo pickups. And for the adventurous players who like to explore the dusty end of the fretboard, the graceful Venetian cutaway gives you effortless access to those soaring high notes.

    • V-Class Bracing: The engine under the hood, providing more volume, longer sustain, and purer intonation up and down the neck.
    • Expression System 2 Electronics: Translates your guitar’s natural voice into a warm, dynamic plugged-in tone.
    • Venetian Cutaway: Offers a smooth, comfortable on-ramp to the upper frets for effortless soloing.

Woods That Have Lived a Little (So Your Tone Can Live a Lot)

The magic starts with the top. Taylor takes a solid Sitka spruce top and puts it through a special roasting process called torrefaction, essentially aging the wood to give it the sweet, responsive played-in character of a vintage instrument right out of the box. Your fingers will be dancing on a genuine West African ebony fretboard, a famously smooth and durable wood that adds a touch of brightness and clarity to every note.

And to make sure this masterpiece stays safe on its travels, it comes protected in a rugged, lightweight structured gig bag. It’s the perfect blend of premium materials and practical protection.

    • Solid Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top: Delivers the warm, open sound of a well-aged vintage guitar from day one.
    • West African Ebony Fretboard: A premium, silky-smooth playing surface that elevates every note you play.
    • Structured Gig Bag: Offers the portability of a gig bag with the robust protection of a hardshell case.

    Perfect in every which way!

Perfect intonation & sustain! I've owned a Taylor 614ce & I feel this model outdoes it in every way be it sound & feel, not that there's anything wrong with the 614 but this model appeals more to how I feel personally about what I expect in a guitar. The pricing is understated for what it has to off...
