We don’t want to just sell you gear. We want to sell you the RIGHT gear — even if it takes a few tries.
The Taylor Builder’s Edition 514ce Kona Burst top is a visually stunning acoustic electric guitar designed for exceptional tone, comfort, and versatility. Its Grand Auditorium body shape—Taylor’s most versatile—makes it an excellent choice for both fingerstyle players and light to moderate strummers.
Crafted from all solid urban ash back and sides and paired with a solid Sitka Spruce top, the Builders Edition 514ce Kona Burst top delivers a natural midrange compression with an impressive headroom and dynamic range. An ultra thin gloss finish enhances projection and responsiveness, allowing the guitar to fully reflect the player’s touch.
New for 2026, this next generation Builders Edition 514ce Kona Burst top introduces three major performance upgrades: the Action Control Neck for fast, precise neck angle adjustments under full string tension; updated Scalloped V Class bracing for enhanced low end bloom, sustain, and intonation; and Taylor’s new Claria active pickup system, offering clear, plug and play amplified tone with intuitive soundhole mounted controls.
Premium Builder’s Edition appointments include a beveled armrest and cutaway, chamfered body and neck edge treatment, Gotoh 21:1 antique chrome tuners, curved wing bridge, celluloid firestripe pickguard, and compass Italian acrylic fretboard and peghead inlays. The Builders Edition 514ce Kona Burst top guitar ships in a deluxe hard shell case.
