EVH guitars exist because Eddie Van Halen spent years modifying instruments until they did what he needed, then built a brand around the results. The Striped Series makes the iconic paint jobs available in production form, with guitars built to Van Halen's personal specs. The Wolfgang series is the more versatile side of the catalog: compound radius necks, Floyd Rose tremolos, and direct-mount pickups for players who need a full range of tones rather than one iconic one.

Eddie Van Halen didn’t just play guitar; he rewrote the rules. Known for blazing solos and a style that tore through rock’s conventions, Eddie created his legendary "brown" sound that was raw, electrifying, and unmistakably his. EVH guitars are an open invitation to feel that spark and to dig into the same intensity Eddie brought to every riff and solo. These guitars are built for players who don’t settle, who want the grit, the punch, and the power to carve their own paths while honoring Eddie’s unmatched impact on rock history.
EVH guitars pack more than just good looks; they’re built to shred, scream, and handle whatever you throw at them. From the signature low-friction necks that keep your fingers flying to the high-gain pickups designed for full, roaring tone, every feature is dialed in for serious players. You’ve got Floyd Rose tremolos for those dive bombs that’ll send the crowd wild, custom-designed pickups that capture Eddie’s sound without compromise, and killer hardware that’s as durable as it is slick. If you want a guitar that’s ready for the spotlight, EVH has you covered.
Let's take a look at the most popular guitars that proudly wear the EVH badge.
Built to Eddie’s specs, the Wolfgang Series delivers a sound and feel that’s nothing short of legendary. Named after Eddie’s son, this series is known for its comfortable, fast necks, powerful pickups, and meticulous attention to every detail. Plug in, crank up, and you’ll see why the Wolfgang is made to take on any stage. For a prime example of this line, check out the Wolfgang Special with a maple neck.
When you think of Eddie’s iconic look, the Stripe Series is it. These guitars are painted with the classic striped patterns that defined Eddie’s iconic image, but it’s not just about the visuals. The Stripe Series brings the power and versatility to match, with hardware ready to handle wild solos, screaming dive bombs, and everything in between. Nothing says classic Van Halen more than the EVH Frankie model based on Eddie's most well-known guitar.
The 5150 Series is a nod to Eddie’s favorite stage and studio weapon. With its high-output pickups and smooth-as-butter playability, this series is all about tone and attitude. The 5150 captures the essence of Eddie’s most intense moments and packs it into a guitar that’s ready to make some noise.
EVH guitars are the product of Eddie Van Halen’s endless tinkering, tweaking, and pushing boundaries. From the Frankenstein guitars he built in his garage to signature models that changed the industry, Eddie was all about getting the perfect tone, the right feel, and an instrument that could keep up with him on stage. The EVH brand officially launched in the early 2000s, turning Eddie’s decades of innovation into a line that’s as close to his original vision as it gets. Every model reflects his hands-on approach, his obsession with quality, and his drive to give players a guitar that’s built for anything rock can throw at it.
Got questions about EVH guitars? Here’s what you need to know.
