If you play left-handed, you already know the deal: the guitar selection is usually slim, and half the time it feels like an afterthought. One or two left-handed electric guitars tucked away in a store, maybe a dusty demo model if you’re lucky. It’s frustrating — especially when all you want is the same access and variety every other guitarist gets without thinking twice.
At American Musical Supply, we don't like limiting your choices. Our collection of left-handed electric guitars is curated with real options — solid builds, trusted brands, and styles for every kind of player. Whether you’re looking for your first left-handed electric or upgrading to your dream axe, you’ll find gear that’s ready to keep up with your sound.
For decades, being a left-handed electric guitarist basically meant two things: flipping a right-handed guitar upside down, or waiting months for a custom build. In the early days, few manufacturers even bothered making left-handed electrics — and when they did, the options were limited, and the price tags weren’t exactly friendly.
Sure, Jimi Hendrix made it look cool. But he was solving a problem that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.
Thankfully, times have changed. Today’s guitar brands understand that being left-handed isn’t a niche — it's just another way of playing. More models are being made specifically for left-handed players, with the same tonewoods, pickups, and hardware as their right-handed counterparts. And you'll find all of them right here at AMS.
Ready to find your guitar? Here are a few of our most popular models, each with its own vibe — and more importantly, built specifically for lefties, not just rebranded righties. Whether you’re after vintage soul or modern edge, these left-handed electrics are player-approved for a reason.
This one’s a legend for a reason. With a solid mahogany body, AA figured maple top, and Burstbucker pickups, the left-handed version of the Les Paul Standard ‘60s brings that iconic tone and sustain — without making you special order it from the ends of the earth. It’s not just a flipped model; it’s a full-throttle tribute to left-handed precision.
A sleek, double-cut beast with vintage appeal. The left-handed SG Tribute packs Epiphone 650R and 700T humbucker pickups, slim-taper neck, and full-body access for high-fret riffing. Bonus: It’s priced for mere mortals but still packs enough punch to scare your amp into submission.
Hey, players who shred, sweep, and solo at questionable speeds, you'll love the left-handed Ibanez RGA42FML. The Wizard III maple neck is thin, fast, and made for serious left-hand agility. Add in Quantum pickups and a sculpted top, and you’ve got a modern metal machine that’s actually built with left-handed comfort in mind.
Clean, classic, and ready to work. The left-handed Affinity Tele is one of the best guitars for left-handed beginners — or anyone who wants that unmistakable Tele tone without the vintage price tag. Comfortable neck, solid build, and it looks great slung low on a strap.
Great guitars aren’t always cheap, and being left-handed shouldn’t mean you have to shell out more just to get one that fits. That’s why American Musical Supply makes it easy with flexible payment plans. Most left-handed electric guitars are eligible for 0% interest installments, and you don’t need to open a new credit line to qualify — just use your existing card.
So yeah, you really can have that dream left-handed electric without emptying your bank account in one dramatic swoop. Play now, pay later. Simple as that.
If you have questions about left-handed electric guitars, we've got the answers.
Not at all. If you're left-handed, playing a left-handed electric guitar will feel more natural and intuitive. It’s all about comfort and control — not some mythical level of difficulty.
They’re produced in smaller quantities, which often bumps up the cost. But the gap is closing — more brands are offering competitively priced left-handed models as demand grows.
Yes, and the selection is growing. Whether you want high-output humbuckers for metal or single-coils for clean jazz tones, there’s a left-handed electric out there built for your style.
No more settling. No more waiting. Whether you're chasing classic tones or carving your own sound, our lineup of left-handed electric guitars is ready when you are. Explore top brands, pick your favorite, and take it home with easy payment plans that keep things stress-free.
Go ahead — grab the guitar that plays the way you do at AMS today.
