The i5 is a multipurpose microphone capable of being a chameleon on stage. It excels at snare, guitar cab, and multipurpose percussion and vocals.l
Built around a bulletproof transformerless - XLR balanced design and housed in a precision cast zinc-alloy case with a steel mesh grill (stick hits no problem here), the Audix i5 is a super-smooth dynamic mic featuring 50-16kHz frequency response and a very useable cardioid pattern with incredible off-axis rejection (>23dB) for exceptionally high gain before feedback.

Really versatile
I use this mic as my bottom mic on the snare for recording. It handles the crack of the snare no problem. Also good for micing guitar amps, as well as vocals in a pinch.
