    Measuring Bass Scale Length
You cannot always tell the strings you need just by the scale length of your bass. Some basses are strung through the body, and the distances from the bridge to where the ballend locks in or the distance from the nut to the pegs are not standard on all guitars. The best way to figure out the correct strings for sure is to:
      1) Assuming your bass has strings on it, mark the lowest pitched string (while on your bass) at the nut with a marker.
      2) Remove the string.
      3) Measure the distance from the inner edge of the ball end to the mark you just made.
4 ) Record this length, and refer to the following chart:

      Length String Scale Required
Up to 32 inches DAddario Short
32 to 34 inches DAddario Medium
34 to 36 inches DAddario Long

    Quality Flatwounds

I've tried so many strings over the years on different basses, going back and forth, and finally found the right set for me, that really works for my bass (a G&L Fullerton Series LB-100. ) The D'Addario's just have this deep, rich, and creamy tone that really works well with a P-style pickup, espe...

    Flat wounds are not for

Flat wounds are not for everyone, they feel amazing and the tone is all bass no treble. They may come across as dark but I love them.

These strings have a great sound not too bright or too mellow. . . just right. This is my first experience in using a flat wound set and they work wonderfully on my fretless!

    Perfect for Mustang Bass

I got these for my Fender Mustang bass and they are the perfect length for the string thru body and bridge, and h live Chrome flats on my Basses , these have a very mellow tone and gives off a almost acoustic stand up bass tone , Greaf strings for a fair price.

Flatwounds with a bit of round wound tone

If you like roundwound tone, but want the benefits of a flat string, these may be for you. Sounds great, good feel. Great for recording, cuts down on some noises that round wounds may present.
