A Very Special SJ-200 Limited Edition Celebrating 100 Years of Gibson Flat-Tops
To honor a full century of Gibson flat-top craftsmanship, Gibson Custom unveils the SJ-200 Anniversary Limited Edition. Part of a five-model Anniversary Collection—each limited to just 100 instruments—this exceptional SJ-200 is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, and designed to serve as both an heirloom and a source of inspiration for generations of players.
This commemorative SJ-200 pairs AAA figured maple back and sides with a premium bear claw Sitka spruce top, delivering the powerful, articulate voice and striking visual character the model is known for. The back is accented with multi-ply binding, while the top features multi-ply binding with abalone, complemented by an abalone rosette.
The two-piece AA maple neck, reinforced with a walnut stringer and carved to a comfortable Round profile, is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring 20 standard frets. Mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays add a classic SJ-200 touch. The single-ply bound headstock displays the vintage script-style “The Gibson” logo inlaid in mother of pearl and is fitted with a bone nut and gold-plated Grover Imperial tuners.
Abalone detailing extends to the tortoise shell–style SJ-200 vines-and-flowers pickguard, which features signature decorative accents. The rosewood two-bar moustache bridge is equipped with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins, with mother-of-pearl inlays completing the design.
Finished in a historic Cremona Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the SJ-200 Anniversary Limited Edition comes factory-equipped with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, featuring an under-saddle piezo pickup and active preamp. Discreet, soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls provide easy adjustment while maintaining a traditional appearance.
Each instrument ships in a Gibson Custom hardshell case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
