Like the Hummingbird Standard, the Hummingbird Standard EC combines a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides. Scalloped X-bracing helps shape its responsive voice, while multi-ply binding accents the classic square-shoulder body design. This time-tested construction is equally at home driving rhythm parts in a rock ’n’ roll setting or supporting the dynamic expression of today’s singer-songwriters. A gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes the guitar’s timeless appearance.
The addition of a cutaway opens up improved access to the higher frets, making the Hummingbird Standard EC especially appealing to lead players and anyone seeking an expanded playing range and greater expressive possibilities. Its mahogany neck features a comfortable SlimTaper profile and is paired with a bound rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius, 20 standard frets, and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays.
A rosewood belly-up bridge equipped with a TUSQ saddle works in conjunction with a bone nut and Grover Rotomatic tuners for dependable performance.
