This guitar was originally intended for use in recording studios, bringing with it a variety of Les Paul humbucking tones to creative projects and albums without the extra cost of body binding, inlay, and figured tops. While Gibson Les Paul Studios are still used primarily in this way, they have also exploded onto the scene as leading live stage axes for a new generation of guitarists.
For years, the Les Paul Studio has been the choice of countless guitarists who appreciate the combination of an Ultra Modern weight-relieved mahogany body and maple cap paired with simplified cosmetic appointments. This cherished model has now been refined as the Les Paul Modern Studio. It incorporates improvements and enhanced features, many taken directly from the Les Paul Modern, including a bound ebony fretboard with a compound radius for improved black nickel hardware, and in addition to coil tapping, additional switching for control over phase and pure bypass. A soft shell case is included with this no-nonsense, high-performance tone machine.

My first USA Gibson.
This guitar is amazing and certainly not what one expects from a Gibson. The neck profile: "Slim Taper" with a 12-16" compound radius. Very similar to a Charvel "Speed Neck". Ebony fretboard. Plays and feels great.
