At its foundation, the SG Supreme pairs a plain maple top with a mahogany body, presented without a pickguard for a sleek, contemporary look. The mahogany neck features a fast-playing SlimTaper profile and is capped with an ebony fretboard with a 10”–16” compound radius, offering comfort for first-position chords and effortless playability higher up the neck. Twenty-four medium jumbo frets provide extended range, while mother-of-pearl Super Split Block inlays add an elegant visual touch. The headstock features Gibson’s new mother-of-pearl Chandelier Inlay, inspired by an original 1940s design discovered in the Gibson archives. Locking Grover tuners with Keystone buttons, paired with a Graph Tech nut, help ensure excellent tuning stability, while the aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece enhance sustain and precise intonation.
A Burstbucker Pro in the neck position and a Burstbucker Pro+ in the bridge deliver a wide range of tones, with push/pull volume controls for coil tapping and individual tone controls for added versatility.
