A New Way to Play Supreme
The return of the SG Supreme has struck a strong chord with players, quickly establishing it as one of Gibson’s most compelling recent introductions. Its updated appointments and refined design have been met with enthusiastic response, leading to the arrival of a new two-pickup version in a rich, opaque Ebony finish. Long celebrated as one of Gibson’s most enduring and widely admired models, the SG has earned the trust of musicians across genres and generations. With the SG Supreme, Gibson elevates this iconic platform into a premium instrument that blends modern performance with striking visual appeal.
At its foundation, the SG Supreme pairs a plain maple top with a mahogany body, presented without a pickguard for a sleek, contemporary look. The mahogany neck features a fast-playing SlimTaper profile and is capped with an ebony fretboard with a 10”–16” compound radius, offering comfort for first-position chords and effortless playability higher up the neck. Twenty-four medium jumbo frets provide extended range, while mother-of-pearl Super Split Block inlays add an elegant visual touch. The headstock features Gibson’s new mother-of-pearl Chandelier Inlay, inspired by an original 1940s design discovered in the Gibson archives. Locking Grover tuners with Keystone buttons, paired with a Graph Tech nut, help ensure excellent tuning stability, while the aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece enhance sustain and precise intonation.
A Burstbucker Pro in the neck position and a Burstbucker Pro+ in the bridge deliver a wide range of tones, with push/pull volume controls for coil tapping and individual tone controls for added versatility. The timeless Ebony finish is complemented by gold hardware, creating an instrument that is as visually refined as it is sonically flexible. For players seeking a guitar that excels in sound, feel, and appearance, the SG Supreme represents the forefront of modern Gibson craftsmanship. A hardshell case is included for secure transport and protection.
