The Gibson SJ-200 is the world’s most famous acoustic guitar and earned its designation as the “King of the Flat-Tops.” Since its release in 1937, its wide use by American artists has made the Super Jumbo one of the most widely played acoustic guitars of our time. The SJ-200 Original features a solid Sitka spruce top paired with exquisite flame maple back and sides, delivering the bold projection, clarity, and tonal definition that have made the SJ-200 a favorite for generations. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing enhances the guitar’s natural resonance and dynamic response, allowing the large Super Jumbo body to deliver a powerful and balanced acoustic voice.
The two-piece maple neck features a comfortable Rounded profile and is joined to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint. The rosewood fingerboard features 20 standard frets and distinctive mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays.
