    Guild D-140 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

The Guild D-140 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar delivers a sound that will keep you playing for hours. As part of Guild's Westerly Collection, this all-solid wood acoustic combines the bold, room-filling voice of a classic dreadnought with exceptional warmth, clarity, and balance. It has a vintage soul but feels solid and reliable, not fragile or fussy.

It's a versatile guitar that sounds just as right on stage as it does in a quiet room while you're writing your next song.

Guild D-140 Big, Balanced Tone That Fills the Room

Big, Balanced Tone That Fills the Room

A great solid wood acoustic guitar should do more than just make noise — it should come alive in your hands. The Guild D-140 delivers that full-bodied, powerful voice dreadnought players crave, but with a musical balance that's never boomy or blunt. Whether you're strumming hard, picking lightly, or digging into open chords, this guitar maintains its composure, responding to your every move with dynamic grace.

    • Solid Sitka spruce top: Delivers crisp articulation, strong projection, and the kind of clear top-end that helps every chord ring out with purpose.
    • Solid African mahogany back and sides: Add warmth, depth, and a woody richness that rounds out the brightness of the spruce beautifully.
    • Balanced dreadnought voicing: Gives you impressive volume and resonance without losing detail, so your playing sounds big, clear, and expressive.

Built to Feel Comfortable in Your Hands

Tone gets the headlines, but feel is what keeps a guitar in your hands. The D-140 is designed to play smoothly and respond naturally, so it feels less like a battle and more like a conversation. From first-position chords to long practice sessions, it has an easygoing feel that lets the music do the heavy lifting.

    • African mahogany neck with a vintage C-shaped profile: Offers a comfortable, familiar grip that’s solid without feeling like a baseball bat.
    • 1 3/4" nut width: Provides your fretting hand with a little extra breathing room, which is perfect for fingerpicking, complex chord shapes, and cleaner note separation.
    • Rosewood fingerboard and bone nut and saddle: Create a smooth playing surface, strong sustain, and reliable tonal transfer that keeps your notes sounding rich and resonant.

    Vintage Guild Style, Done Right

Some guitars look good in photos. Others have character the second you open the case. The Guild D-140 leans into its heritage with classic visual details that feel timeless rather than flashy. There’s a quiet confidence here — more old-school cool than showroom sparkle.

    • Chesterfield headstock emblem: A nod to iconic 1960s Guild guitars that gives the instrument unmistakable vintage personality.
    • Mother-of-pearl rosette: Adds a refined, classic touch around the soundhole without overdoing it.
    • Period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard: The pickguard completes the throwback look, while the gig bag keeps this beauty protected on the move.

    Amazing guitar

I bought mine as a "minor blemish" no set up, just out of the box. All I had to do was tweek the truss rod and she was good to go. I can't even imagine how a $2,000 Guild plays. Best $750 I've ever spent on a guitar.
