The Class A 12AX7 tube preamp features variable Drive and Gain Controls, a Tone Stack EQ with Shape Circuit, and delivers an unlimited amount of bass tones to the lightweight, Class D amplifier.

Hartke Tone Stacked
Capture the character of your bass as soon as you plug in with the Hartke Tone Stack EQ that allows you to dial in a bass curve to match your bass and cab. The tube preamp includes very usable bass and treble controls as well as a Frequency and Shape section that provides extensive variation over the mid frequency range. The switchable Brite button brings out the upper end definition of your bass and highlights natural harmonic overtones for a distinct, vivid sound.
Performance Control
The LX5500 provides two essential on-board effects designed to enhance your playing and add extra options to your performance arsenal. An integrated Drive control allows the option of mixing in a comfortable amount of grit, or max it out for a healthy dose of fuzz. The variable Compressor lets you dial in just the right amount of compression to add punch and presence to your attack and smooth out transients for players that employ slapping, tapping and thumb picking techniques.
All the Ins & Outs
Lightweight enough to bring anywhere and versatile enough to use with any setup, the LX5500 is the ideal amplifier for the stage studio, or practice room. An XLR direct out, with a pre/post EQ switch, allows for direct connection to a PA or recording console. The front panel 1/8” headphone output is ideal for silent practice sessions and the 1/8” auxiliary input, also front panel, can be used to connect phones or MP3 players.
*LX amplifiers have been be tested using a 55Hz sine wave for 8 hours in a 100° F (40° C) chamber and they ran at power for 8 hours uninterrupted.

Light weight, plenty of head room.. I have it powering the Hartke HD210 & HD410.. Ive had mine for about 6 months, and was loving ever minute of playing it, even the overdrive was nice.. but since there;s no footswitch availble on the 5500.. in hindsight, I shouldve went with the 8500.. but it takes...
