This GRG’s Poplar body with Quilted Maple Art Grain top is cloaked in a high gloss finish and complemented by a bound Purpleheart fretboard equipped with string-bending-friendly jumbo frets. Proprietary Infinity R7 humbucking pickups deliver the requisite fat, distorted tone that metal rockers crave, while the Ibanez Fixed 7 bridge helps take your playing to a whole other level.

Worth twice the price!!!
Are all of these set up right out of the box? The intonation, neck relief and action were spot on. Talk about quality control. Even the controls cover on the back has foil shielding on it on the inside. Ive bought $1,000 guitars that didn't even have that, wow. Dont tell Ibanez but i would have paid...

It’s pretty good for the price, tuners could be better, and sometimes the bridge pickup sounds shrill for higher notes (easily tamed with the tone knob). Body edges could also be slightly more rounded over, but it’s also a nice chunky feeling thanks to the comfort cuts and contoured neck heel.

This guitar plays great and feels great all for $270. I play this just as much as my RG550. It looks great with all black. Ibanez has really stepped up the GIO series. They can really charge more for this guitar how good it is. Great for beginners or anyone who wants an affordable RG.
