The Decimator G String X from ISP Technologies uses patented Decimator X Technology to deliver advanced adaptive noise reduction, ensuring smooth transitions between fast staccato notes and long sustained tones while eliminating undesirable noise and modulation. This pedal tracks the signal directly from your guitar for seamless transitions from clean to high gain without adjusting the threshold, and it includes linking functionality for dual-channel or stereo setups. Ideal for both live performances and studio recordings, the Decimator G String X offers unparalleled transparency and smoothness in noise reduction.

ISP Technologies Decimator X G String Noise Reducer Features

    • Adaptive release technology for smooth and versatile noise reduction
    • Improved adaptive dynamics than older models
    • Eliminates any modulation with slow decaying notes
    • Amazing transparency
    • New “Integration Release Window” holds a slow release response until the decay of the note exceeds the number of decibels required
    • FX Loop so the pedal can be utilized in more than one place in the signal chain
    • For best performance place all gain pedals in front of the Decimator
    • Place Delay and Reverb effects pedals after the Decimator to avoid cutting off reverb and delay tails
    • Can also be placed in an amp’s FX Loop
    • Link function allows for two Decimator pedals to be chained together
    • Small, lightweight, & durable enclosure

The Decimator X G String has four (4) 1/4 inch jacks.  Connect the guitar directly to the Guitar IN.  Connect the Guitar OUT to the input of the amplifier.  Connect the DEC IN to the loop send and DEC OUT to the loop return.  For best performance place all gain pedals in front of the amplifier and DEC IN.  You can put Delay and Reverb effects pedals after the Decimator X G String and before the loop return to avoid cutting off reverb and delay tails .The diagram on the left shows how to LINK two Decimator X pedals allowing the second pedal to track the direct instrument input.  This will allow the second pedals’ internal level detector to track the guitar directly, providing tracking performance similar to the professional rack mount Decimator ProRack G.  Connect an RTS 1/8 inch cable from the LINK OUT of the first pedal to the LINK IN of the second pedal.  This diagram shows just one example of how to connect a Decimator X G String pedal with a standard Decimator X pedal for true Stereo applications.  A true stereo Decimator system can be realized by linking a Decimator X G String and a standard Decimator X.  The Diagram shows how to connect two pedal chains in Stereo.

    Decimator X Technology

Nearly all noise reduction system including noise gates and downward expanders use a fixed release time.  Some will include a user adjustable release allowing the user to adjust this release time to fit their playing style.  This means there is a huge tradeoff between playing fast staccato notes which requires a super fast release time to avoid audible noise, commonly referred to breathing, which appears after each note as the expander releases, and long sustained note used in jazz of blues playing.  If a fast release is used with long sustained notes you get a very annoying modulation sound as notes decay.

While ISP Technologies Decimator has always used an adaptive release based on previously issued patents this new technology further improves the adaptive dynamics where the release time is more adaptive and eliminates any modulation with slow decaying notes adding amazing transparency.

The new Decimator X Technology is based on US Patent 11,641,183 with other foreign patents pending.  With a desire to further improve this adaptive response the new technology now provides a super fast response with staccato notes but virtually eliminates any choppy modulation with slow decaying notes by providing an Integration Release Window.  This innovation holds a slow release response until the decay of the note exceeds the number of decibels required by the Integration Release Window.  By setting this window to be larger than the ripple of the fastest release response the release will track only the negative going peaks of the decaying audio envelope.  By making the Integration Release Window adaptively slide downward based on the negative peaks in the audio signal any and all annoying modulation is eliminated providing the smoothest transparent release response possible.  The Figure below shows the response of the Adaptive Release using an Integration Release Window.
