Marking 50 years of high-voltage guitar innovation.
Kramer is celebrating five decades of shaping rock history, and we’re taking it all the way to 11! To honor this milestone, we’ve introduced a limited-edition lineup of some of our most beloved models, each dressed in a striking metallic Anniversary Gold finish. These instruments helped define an era and continue to inspire players worldwide. Available only during this anniversary year, they’re destined to become prized pieces for collectors and musicians alike.
The name “Volante” comes from the Italian word for “flying” or “light,” evoking speed and motion. In music, it signals a directive to play with agility and fluidity—qualities that define Kramer’s newest creation. The 50th Anniversary Volante HHFR delivers that spirit with advanced features, starting with a lightweight alder body sculpted for comfort. Its three-piece, thermally-aged maple neck sports a satin finish and bolts to the body with five ferrules, complemented by a contoured heel for effortless upper-fret access. The neck also incorporates Kramer’s innovative KeyLock system, engineered by Senior Product Development Engineer Richard Akers, which enhances stability and sustain by eliminating neck pocket movement and improving tone transfer.
The ebony fretboard features a 10–14” compound radius, mother-of-pearl small diamond inlays, and 24 jumbo frets for smooth bends and expressive vibrato. A spoke-wheel truss rod adjustment at the body end ensures quick, convenient tweaks. The classic Kramer “beak” headstock is finished in Anniversary Gold and equipped with black mini die-cast tuners, a string retainer bar, and a rear-mounted Floyd Rose R3 locking nut, along with a rear wrench holder for on-the-go adjustments. A Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo rounds out the hardware, delivering rock-solid tuning stability no matter how aggressively you use the vibrato arm.
A pair of Kramer USA Neptune humbuckers provides a wide tonal palette. Controls include a master volume, master tone, and a five-way blade switch. In position 1, the bridge pickup operates alone as a humbucker. Position 2 blends both pickups, each in single-coil mode. Position 3 uses both pickups together as full humbuckers. Position 4 isolates the neck pickup in a parallel-wired humbucking mode, while position 5 features the neck pickup alone in series for full output. This setup offers everything from searing lead tones to clean, articulate rhythm sounds, all with exceptional versatility.
Each 50th Anniversary Volante HHFR ships in a premium Kramer gig bag, ready for the stage or studio. More than just an instrument, it’s a collector’s piece and a tribute to Kramer’s legacy—available only during this landmark year. Don’t miss the chance to own a legend reborn.
