If you’ve ever tried to wrestle a full stack into the backseat of a hatchback, you know the struggle is real. The Marshall DSL20CR is the antidote to back pain and noise complaints, packing that legendary British roar into a combo that’s actually portable.
Whether you're after pristine cleans or rich high-gain saturation, this 20-watt tube combo amp delivers for both bedroom players and gigging musicians. It strikes the perfect balance: powerful enough to cut through a drum kit, yet compact and portable for easy transport.
All-Valve Tone, Any Volume
The DSL20CR changes the game with adjustable power settings that let you dial back from 20 watts to 10 watts without sucking the life out of your tone. You get that rich, harmonic saturation from the EL34 power tubes whether you're playing over a drummer or just trying not to wake the cat.
Adjustable Power Output: Flip between high and low power modes to keep your neighbors happy while maintaining that articulate, dynamic valve feel.
Genuine Tube Power: Powered by three ECC83 preamp valves and two EL34 power valves, it delivers the warm, responsive grit that digital modelers still can’t touch.
Celestion Loaded: The 12-inch Celestion Seventy-80 speaker is custom-voiced to handle everything from glassy cleans to aggressive, face-melting crunch.
Dial In Your Alter Ego
Whether you want to sound like a polite blues player or a metalhead with a grudge, this amp has you covered. The DSL20CR features two distinct channels — Classic Gain and Ultra Gain — that let you swap personalities at the tap of a footswitch. Marshall has also refined the EQ section to include a dedicated Resonance control, giving you command over the low-end thump that smaller combos often lack.
Dual Channels: Go from shimmering clean tones on the Classic Gain channel to heavy, modern distortion on the Ultra Gain channel instantly.
Tone Shift & EQ: The Tone Shift button reconfigures the preamp mids for aggressive modern styles, while the 3-band EQ, Presence, and Resonance controls let you sculpt your sound with surgical precision.
Studio-Grade Reverb: Add space and dimension to your sound without needing extra pedals, thanks to the lush built-in digital reverb.
Studio Ready, Stage Approved
We’ve all been there trying to mic up a cabinet in a bad room and getting a sound that resembles a beehive in a tin can. The DSL20CR solves this with its Softube-emulated output. Marshall partnered with the audio wizards at Softube to create a line out that perfectly mimics the sound of a 1960 cabinet, meaning you can plug directly into a PA or recording interface and sound like a rock god, no microphone required.
Softube Emulated Output: Plug directly into a PA system or recording interface and get the accurate sound of a high-quality Marshall 1960 cabinet, perfect for silent late-night recording sessions.
Effects Loop: Place your modulation, delay, and reverb pedals exactly where they belong — after the preamp section — so your time-based effects stay clear even when you crank the distortion.
Footswitch Included: Keep your hands on the guitar and your feet in control; the included 2-button footswitch lets you toggle channels and the FX loop on the fly.
The Real Deal
The Marshall DSL20CR is a powerful, versatile tool for guitarists. It honors the legacy of the Marshall name while offering modern features like power scaling and direct recording to meet the needs of today’s players. Loud enough for gigs, quiet enough for practice, and built to last, it’s a reliable choice for serious musicians.

Love this little amp! Have been playing through it since I got it! Great clean tone, and that Marshall sass on the dirty side. I will agree the reverb is a little weak, but overall so far have no complaints. Will check backin about 6 months.
