Neumann’s condenser capsule heads for wireless systems KK 104/105 have set a new benchmark for delivering studio quality sound on stage with the freedom of wireless operation. Over the past two decades, these capsule heads have become the premier choice of many of today’s most celebrated vocalists such as Adele and Katie Melua. Until now, these capsule heads were exclusive to Sennheiser handhelds. With the new KK 104 U and KK 105 U, we are excited to finally be able to offer Neumann sound to users of 3rd party* wireless systems, too.
While Neumann and Sennheiser are a perfect match when it comes to ultimate sound quality, some artists and rental companies are hesitant to switch from their 3rd party wireless system. That’s why we see great market potential in offering Universal versions of our state-of-the art condenser capsule heads, making it easy to add Neumann sound to existing 3rd party wireless infrastructure.
Please note that these additions to the Neumann portfolio do not replace existing capsule heads for Sennheiser Systems; the KK 104/105S remain in production. Finally, Neumann sound is available to everyone!

Iconic Neumann Sound for All Wireless Systems
The are premium quality capsule heads for 3rd party* handheld transmitters. Their precision manufactured condenser capsules offer transparent Neumann sound, combined with the freedom of wireless operation and all the virtues of a rugged stage microphone: excellent pop protection, enormous SPL capability, suppression of handling noise and high feedback resistance.
Studio Quality for Wireless Systems
The KK 105 U capsule heads are based on Neumann’s highly successful, award-winning KMS series of wired stage microphones. While most stage microphones use dynamic capsules, the KK 104 U and KK 105 U are equipped with a true condenser capsule offering the superior clarity that made Neumann studio microphones famous all over the world.
At the same time, the KK 105 U possess the ruggedness required for stage use, thus refuting the myth that condenser microphones must be “fragile”. The KK 105 U can stand enormous sound pressure levels without clipping, and their tight, frequency-independent cardioid/supercardioid pattern ensures high gain before feedback. The KK 105 U have a much smoother frequency response than dynamic microphones and an airy top-end.
Compared to dynamic microphones, the Neumann KK 105 U offer a vastly superior transient response, resulting in a more immediate, more emotional vocal sound. In practical terms: effortless intelligibility, without the usual EQ boosts – which further improves feedback resistance.
The KK 105 U are optimized for close miking; a fixed low cut filter compensates for the proximity effect and ensures clear bass, even if the singer’s lips touch the microphone. The headgrille is made of hardened steel and features a highly effective internal pop screen which also keeps moisture away from the capsule, while controlling sibilance.
Applications
Neumann capsule heads in combination with Sennheiser wireless systems have already proven their outstanding sound quality and reliability on some of the largest stages of the world, including international TV events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest. With the KK 105 U, Neumann premium sound is finally available to users of 3rd party* wireless systems, too.
The KK 105 U offers better separation and increased rejection of unwanted sound from neighboring instruments, resulting in a very direct and intimate sound, even on crowded stages.
