The Vinnie is a long ribbon microphone with a Lundahl upgrade which features a 2 7/16” long ribbon of aluminum suspended in the field of a pair of Neodymium rare earth permanent magnets. When the ribbon is exposed to sound it vibrates within the magnetic field and a tiny current is induced in the ribbon. This current is amplified to produce sound. What makes ribbon microphones so incredibly sensitive and accurate is that the signal comes directly from the material that senses the sound; nothing is lost in translation. The long ribbon extends the “sweet spot”, low and high ends. Results is the most intimate, warm, and articulate sound. Results are very honest and transparent. Excellent choice for recording guitar cabinets, drum overheads, vocals, and stereo applications.
The custom winding and core material of the Lundahl transformer offer improved definition along with extended low and top end frequencies.

Handling Instructions:
Ribbon microphones are not designed to withstand excessive air-pressure. The Ribbon is made up of a very thin corrugated aluminum ribbon under light tension. Use for close mic’ing of a kick-drum or vocals can cause damage to the ribbon. Use of a Pop-Filter will reduce the air-pressure and increase life of microphone. When not in use, microphone should be cased to protect from unwanted air-pressure and/or damage. This product is Phantom Power safe.
