PRS SE DGT with Moon Inlay

For years, the DGT (David Grissom Trem) has been a go-to tool for session players and tone enthusiasts, but its high price made it a serious investment.

Now, the PRS SE DGT delivers that same vintage-inspired tone and feel at a more accessible price, without losing the grit and character that made the original iconic. Designed with input from Grissom himself, this guitar ensures every note you play is full of personality.

PRS SE DGT Vintage Voice, Modern Value

    Vintage Voice, Modern Value

The SE DGT isn’t interested in being just another guitar; it wants to be the most versatile instrument in your rack. By combining the muscle of a McCarty-style build with unique electronics, it bridges the gap between roaring Texas blues and articulate cleans.

    • DGT “S” Pickups: These humbuckers are the heart of the beast, voiced to capture the breathy, open top-end and tight lows of the golden era of guitar building. They deliver a vocal-like quality that responds to your pick attack, letting you go from a whisper to a scream just by digging in.
    • Masterful Control Layout: Unlike standard setups, the DGT features individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone. This lets you blend the middle position with surgical precision, creating subtle textures that standard toggles just can’t touch.
    • Coil-Tap Versatility: Need that single-coil spank for a funk verse? The push/pull tone knob instantly thins out the herd, giving you glassy, bell-like tones that snap and pop, effectively doubling your sonic palette.

A Guitar That Almost Plays Itself

David Grissom knows that a guitar’s soul lives in the neck, and the SE DGT translates his preferences into a profile that begs to be played. It’s substantial enough to sustain for days but carved for speed when the red light turns on.

    • Vintage-Inspired Neck Carve: Modeled after decades of Grissom’s favorite vintage instruments, this neck profile feels instantly familiar and broken-in. It fills the palm comfortably for chording but has just enough shoulder for leveraging wide, expressive bends.
    • PRS Patented Tremolo: This bridge is a modern marvel, delivering the silky shimmer of a vintage tremolo with the tuning stability of a tank. Go for a deep dive bomb or a subtle warble — it snaps right back in tune, every time.
    • Jumbo Frets: The tall, beefy fret wire makes string bending feel effortless. You won’t have to wrestle the fretboard for those soaring blues licks; the guitar practically does the work for you.

    PRS SE DGT Stunning Looks

    Stunning Looks

A guitar should sound amazing and stand out under neon lights, and the SE DGT does exactly that. Designed for the stage, it combines style, performance, and confidence.

    • Tonewood Trinity: The classic recipe of a maple top, mahogany back, and mahogany neck provides a balanced, resonant foundation. The maple adds snap and brightness, while the mahogany brings the warmth and mid-range punch that cuts through a dense mix.
    • Inlay Options: Depending on your finish choice, the rosewood fretboard is adorned with either the iconic PRS Birds (on the Tobacco Sunburst) or the classic Moons (on the Gold Top). It’s a subtle nod to the different eras of PRS history.
    • Gig-Ready Protection: Every SE DGT comes with a high-quality gig bag, meaning you can throw it in the van or the overhead bin without breaking a sweat. It’s built to travel, just like the road warrior who designed it.

    A Modern Beauty

The PRS SE DGT proves you don't need a time machine to find the perfect vintage tone — you just need the right gear.

    I got the cherry model

I got the cherry model blemishes. I still have not found a single blemish. Just needed a small truss rod adjustment. It plays beautifully, sounds amazing and stays in tune better than any guitar I've had. So thankfully for AMS to have the opportunity to purchase this amazing guitar.
