Let’s be honest: choosing between the bite of a single-coil and the brawn of a humbucker is a Sophie’s Choice no guitarist wants to make. The PRS SE NF3 says, "Why not both?" This isn't just another guitar; it's a genre-bending anomaly that stands proudly in its own lane. By mounting three unique Narrowfield pickups onto a resonant, lightweight poplar body, PRS has created a sonic chameleon that refuses to be pigeonholed. It’s a distinct, daring instrument for the player who wants to cut through the mix with a voice that is familiar yet undeniably fresh.
If the pickups are the engine, the neck is the steering wheel, and this one handles like a dream. The SE NF3 features a bolt-on maple neck carved into the "Wide Thin" profile. It’s the perfect playground for your fingers—substantial enough to anchor big chords, but svelte enough for lightning-fast runs. The rosewood fretboard adds a touch of warmth and a smooth, tactile response that feels broken-in from the first strum. Adorned with the iconic Birds inlays, it’s a neck that invites you to push your limits, ensuring that the only thing holding you back is your imagination, not your gear.
Don't let their size fool you; these pickups are heavyweights. The trio of PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) “S” pickups are the heart and soul of this beast. Built with taller bobbins and extra steel components, they create a focused, powerful magnetic field that delivers the best of both worlds. You get the articulation and "air" of a single-coil without the hum, and the punch and girth of a humbucker without the mud. With a 5-way blade switch, you can conjure everything from spanky funk rhythms to searing, vocal-like leads. It punches, it cries, it sings—it basically has more range than a classically trained vocalist.
The PRS SE NF3 is the ultimate utility player, a workhorse designed to handle whatever the setlist throws at you. Whether you're laying down gospel chops, country twang, or gritty rock riffs, this guitar adapts instantly. Anchored by the PRS Patented Tremolo, you can add shimmering textures or dramatic dives while the PRS-designed tuners keep your pitch locked down tight. It’s reliable, it’s versatile, and tucked into its included gig bag, it’s ready to hit the road.
