Quilter has created the ultimate stereo amp and cab simulator that's here to make your tonal dreams a reality! In an interface the size of a large pedal, the DirectAmp features three classic amp voicings, three amp sims, three cab sims and a variety of EQ settings so you can get authentic, warm guitar tones wherever you go! Run it through a PA, mixer or DAW via the XLR Stereo Out, or or quiet practice, run it with headphones via the Stereo Headphone Out. Plus, connect your phone or tablet wirelessly to play along with your favorite tracks. The DirectAmp can be powered with any 9v adapter making it easy to run with your pedalboard.

    Reverb and Footswitch:

The reverb provides a lively spring-type sound voiced to sit nicely over the dry sound. The reverb provides a rich ambient effect when used in STEREO mode.

    Active 3-Band EQ Section:

The EQ and AMP TYPE switch affect the sound of the guitar before reaching the tube type master overdrive stage. This determines which guitar register reaches breakup first (high or low strings). The EQ and AMP TYPE affect the sound after the BOOST channel, so you can set up an overdrive tone in BOOST and then EQ the breakup harmonics with the CLEAN channel settings.

    Limiter Footswitch:

Engaging the LIMITER provides another way to go from clean to dirty, with musically interesting dynamic processing while using the limiting.

    Channel Footswitch:

Switches between CLEAN and BOOST channels. CLEAN ON has a green LED. BOOST ON has a red LED.

    Boost Channel Gain and Output:

The signal begins to break up above about 30% BOOST, depending on Q-BOOST settings and your guitar volume. To use a clean boost or alternate voice, set OUTPUT on full and use BOOST and the Q-BOOST switch to regulate the gain level. For a distortion boost, set OUTPUT below 50%, and increase BOOST to get more overdrive. Use OUTPUT to balance the clean and dirty levels between channels.

    Q-Boost Switch:

Three alternate voices are available for the BOOST channel. FLAT only boosts the volume level. BRT adds more chime for accents. FAT adds upper mids for more overdrive.

    Clean Channel Gain and Limiter:

The signal is clean below 25% GAIN. Signal begins to break up between 25% and 50%, depending on the AMP TYPE settings and your guitar volume. The range above 50% delivers rich tube-type overdrive, which can be tempered with the LIMITER control.

    Amp Type Switch:

JMP selects an aggressive British lead voice. AC15 selects a smooth vintage voice resembling the earliest period of amps. FEND selects a scooped mid with silky highs. These voices affect the overall sound of the CLEAN channel, including how it reproduces signals from the BOOST channel

    Master Volume Control:

Regulates the overall volume of the entire mix without changing the relative level of AUX and GUITAR signals. Set up the guitar sound you want with clean and overdrive levels, then adjust the Aux input to match the guitar volume.

    Overall Power Switch:

Switch left for MONO. Switch right for STEREO. Also provides power to the BLUETOOTH section.

    Speaker Type Switch:

CL-80 selects a British style speaker with more midrange focus. V-30 selects a British style speaker with brighter treble response. JENS selects a bright American style speaker with scooped mids

    Guitar Input (MONO):

Quarter inch, 2V peak 1 meg impedance.

    FX Send (MONO):

Unbalanced quarter-inch jack: 1V peak, 1K impedance. Connect mono to RIGHT FX RETURN. Connect stereo effects to LEFT and RIGHT.

    Stereo FX Return Pair:

Unbalanced quarterinch jacks: 1V peak, 47K impedance. Connect mono return to RIGHT. Connect stereo returns to both.

    TRS Stereo Headphone Output:

Peak signal level controlled by MASTER setting.

    XLR Stereo Output Pair:

Balanced 600 ohm line, signal level +4dB at full MASTER setting.

    9V DC Input:

Use the included power supply, or any standard pedalboard supply capable of delivering at least 250ma. The provided power supply operates safely on all AC voltages, and has extra capacity for additional devices.

    Aux Input:

Stereo mini-jack, 22K impedance. Use external device to control volume. The AUX input bypasses all internal effects except for MASTER volume.

    Wireless Receiver:

RECEIVER-ON activates the wireless pairing mode (flashing Blue LED). Enable Bluetooth® on your external device, hold above the receiver, and find “DirectAmp” on your device’s menu. (Each DirectAmp has a unique 4-digit ID number). When paired, the blue LED lights continuously. Wireless reception should begin, with a range of about 30 feet (10 meters). Control the volume with your external device. The wireless input bypasses a

Awesome analog preamp, not so hot cab sim

I have a Mach 3 head, and I don't like the direct out or headphone tone. I figured that the DirectAmp would be an improvement, but for me adding boost/gain sounds "fizzy" on the Closed or Open cab setting. I got the same results plugging into my audio interface using an XLR to to 1/4" adapter (NOTE:...

    Awesome Live Line out!

I work my shows with this amp. I sounds incredible and it’s line out to our pa. It’s like 4 lbs? Goes in my pedal board bag. Between this direct amp and the quilter UK block I don’t miss my traditional amps at all. The tone and sound is incredible.
