    SMALL AND LIGHT BUT VERY POWERFUL!

    This shotgun mic has excellent rear and side rejection, so you can only capture what you are focused on. Also great for foley and sound effects.

    I have used Rode shotguns for many years and owned an NTG3 before this NTG5. The light weight, tiny size, short length and essential assembled accessories make this mic a real winner, especially at a price of under $500. I also like its flexibility.     Rode created the NTG5 with a very specific target in mind. The working professional. At $500, this mic isn't aimed at low budget work. It's quite capable of producing excellent quality recordings both in the field or in the VO booth. Similar in sound and performance to the venerable Sennheiser 416, ...
