Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Orbit 16x2 Summing Mixer

Experience the legendary depth, power, and clarity of a Rupert Neve console right in your rack. The 5057 Orbit 16x2 summing mixer bridges the gap between your digital audio workstation and the rich, saturated sound of classic analog hardware, giving your in-the-box mixes the glue and weight they’ve been missing.

Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Bring the Console to Your DAW

Bring the Console to Your DAW

The Orbit isn't just a passive box; it's a dynamic instrument that breathes life into sterile digital mixes. By running your stems through its 16 channels of Class-A circuitry, you unlock a three-dimensional soundstage that plugins simply can't replicate. It offers the best of both worlds: the instant recall of your digital workflow and the undeniable mojo of real iron transformers.

    • Massive Headroom: With a 16-channel +/- 21V Class-A mix bus, the Orbit delivers massive headroom and vanishingly low noise. You can push your mix bus hard without worrying about harsh digital clipping, resulting in a wide, open sound that feels expensive.
    • Legendary Transformers: At the heart of the Orbit lies the custom Rupert Neve output transformer, originally developed for the acclaimed Shelford Channel. These transformers provide the harmonic complexity and musical non-linearity that have defined the sound of hit records for decades.
    • Seamless Integration: Designed to fit perfectly into a modern hybrid workflow, the Orbit features DB25 inputs for easy connection to your interface and XLR outputs for your mix print. It’s a set-and-forget solution that instantly upgrades the sonic quality of every track you bounce.

    Craft Your Ideal Sound

While some summing mixers are designed to be transparent, the Orbit was born to drive. It gives you precise control over the amount of harmonic saturation you apply, allowing you to go from pristine clarity to thick, vintage grit with the turn of a knob. It's like having a master section from a large-format console at your fingertips.

    • Silk Red & Blue Modes: Tailor the harmonic content of your mix with the push of a button. Silk Red highlights the high-mid and high frequencies, adding shimmer and presence to vocals and snare drums, while Silk Blue enhances the low-end weight, perfect for fattening up bass guitars and kick drums.
    • Texture Control: The Texture knob works in tandem with the Silk modes, allowing you to continuously vary the amount of harmonic saturation. Whether you need a subtle touch of warmth or full-blown analog grit, you can dial in the exact amount of "vibe" your track calls for.
    • Dual Output Options: The Orbit features both a Main Output and a -6dB Output. The -6dB output allows you to drive the mix bus and transformers harder into saturation without clipping the next device in your chain, giving you more creative freedom to shape your sound.

Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Precision and Expandability

    Precision and Expandability

Built to the exacting standards of Rupert Neve Designs, the Orbit offers professional features that ensure accuracy and flexibility in any studio environment. It’s a tool designed for serious engineers who demand reliability and sonic excellence.

    • Stepped Attenuator: The 12-position stepped rotary switch for the master output level ensures perfect stereo matching and easy recall. You can confidently set your levels knowing that your left and right channels are balanced to within +/- 0.1 dB.
    • Link Audio for More Channels: Need more than 16 channels? The Orbit is designed to grow with your studio. You can easily link multiple units together via the rear-panel TRS jacks to create a massive 32, 48, or even higher channel count summing system.
    • Mono Summing: The front panel features four mono switches that allow you to center any of the first eight channels. This is crucial for keeping kick drums, bass lines, and lead vocals rock-solid in the center of the stereo image without relying on your DAW's panning.

The Missing Link for Your Mixes

If you’ve been chasing that elusive "finished record" sound, the Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Orbit is the answer. It delivers the undeniable character, punch, and cohesion that only high-voltage analog summing can provide, elevating your productions from good to professional.

Rupert Neve Designs 5057 The Missing Link for Your Mixes

Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Orbit Features:

    • 16 Channels of Class-A Summing: Legendary Rupert Neve tone and headroom
    • Custom Output Transformers: The classic sound of iron for weight and glue
    • Silk Red & Blue Modes: Variable harmonic saturation for high or low frequency emphasis
    • Texture Control: Precisely dial in the amount of color and vibe

    • Mono Switches: Center mono sources like kick, bass, and vocals

    Amzing for Hybrid Engineering

It adds clarity and weight in a way that is awesome for recall. I'm running mine into an analog chain that dumps into a Neve MBC. These two are an awesome combo! I love my orbit

    Expensive Sound, Budget Price

I’ve been using this Summing Mixer in my mastering chain and I can’t even begin to fully describe the amount of depth and fullness it provides. I mostly use the red silk mode in the 12 o clock position but I’ve also used it quite a few times in the blue mode to help bring out more body from drum mix...
