The Builder’s Edition 717e round shoulder dreadnought features Indian Rosewood back and sides which complement the Torrefied Sitka spruce top and creates a sound that’s rich, powerful, with exceptional bass response. The torrefied Sitka spruce top helps to mimic the woods natural aging process to create a warmer, more responsive sound. Sapele beveled edge binding and Mother of Pearl Arrowheads inlay round out this understated beauty with solid West African ebony fingerboard and bridge. The 717e builder’s edition comes equipped with stage ready Expression System 2 active electronics, and ships in a Taylor Deluxe Hardshell case with Western Floral pattern.

Taylor’s new 717e Builder’s Edition Grand Pacific body shape offers a whole new sound in this amazing round shoulder dreadnought. Based on the award-winning architecture of the V Class Bracing, this new guitar design redefines the tonal qualities one might normally associate with a Taylor guitar. Inspired by traditional country and bluegrass recordings he listened to as a youth, master guitar builder Andy Powers set out to create a guitar that produced a warm and seasoned sound with clear low end power.
Andy wanted to create a guitar that appealed to variety of players that captured a sound that was new and familiar at the same time. The waist of the guitar is slightly wider, helping to increase the air volume inside the body, creating round and whole notes with exceptional power. Notes have longer sustain and more projection, while sounding more in tune. The 717e Grand Pacific Builder’s Edition guitar takes the playing experience to a new level. With custom beveled sapele binding, the guitar body offers a smooth feel. Combined with a custom curved bridge, the players right hand will feel more comfortable. The compound carve neck profile adapts seamlessly with your left hand movements up the neck, creating a comfortable, natural feel wherever you are on the fretboard.
The silent satin finish with natural top reduces body noise while creating an understated aesthetic. Players of all styles have been blown away by this amazingly versatile guitar that redefines the Taylor experience.

This guitar has what I call a Carnigie Hall type high class voice. I have three guitars with solid body's and torrafide top's, the Taylor 314ce LTD 2021, the Washburn HG120, and this guitar. You just can't beat the tone and sweet sound they produce!

Just got this guitar today and it is awesome. I have a 614ce that is a beautiful guitar and I love the way it plays and sounds. This guitar sounds quite different but wonderfully so. Beautifully balanced tone and a dream to hold and play. The neck profile feels fantastic.
