Yamaha TRBX605FM 5-String Electric Bass Guitar

The Yamaha TRBX605FM 5-String Electric Bass Guitar is your new secret weapon, blending precision engineering with timeless craftsmanship and a look that’ll stop traffic.

This flawlessly balanced instrument features a striking flame maple top and a 3D-sculpted alder body, purpose-built for serious players who demand stellar tone, effortless comfort, and road-ready durability. It dishes out the deep lows that define your sound.

    Yamaha TRBX605FM Sculpted for Comfort

Sculpted for Comfort, Built for Speed

Playing a five-string bass can sometimes feel like gripping a baseball bat. Yamaha changes the game with an ergonomic design that hugs your body and a neck that practically plays itself. You get a fatigue-free playing experience that keeps your hands happy through the final encore.

    • Ergonomic Alder Body: Forget clunky, uncomfortable basses. This is a beautifully sculpted alder body, meticulously contoured to hug your body.
    • Stunning Flame Maple Top: Let's be honest: looks count. This bass is a visual stunner, with a premium flame maple top that dances under the stage lights. It’s proof that a workhorse can still be a head-turner.
    • Built-for-Speed 5-Piece Neck: Ready to fly across the fretboard? This slim maple and mahogany neck is your runway. It gives your fingers room to move, with a comfortable 43mm nut width and 24 medium frets on a silky rosewood fingerboard.

    Tonal Flexibility on Tap

A great bass should adapt to the gig, not the other way around. The TRBX605FM delivers, loaded with a highly tweakable preamp system and custom-designed pickups that let you dial in anything from a classic, vintage thump to a modern, aggressive growl.

    • Custom Alnico V Pickups: These twin double-coil humbuckers provide a punchy, articulate response that captures every nuance of your playing. Your low B string will remain tight, defined, and free of any muddiness.
    • 3-Band Active EQ: Sculpt your sound with precision. The intuitive bass, mid, and treble controls allow you to boost the boom, scoop the mids, or add a glassy sheen to your slap tone in an instant.
    • Active/Passive Switch: Seamlessly switch between the hi-fi punch of the active preamp and the warm, dynamic character of the passive circuit. In passive mode, the treble knob transforms into a master tone control for classic high-end roll-off.

    Yamaha TRBX605FM Gig-Ready Reliability

    Gig-Ready Reliability

Yamaha designed this bass for the gigging musician, incorporating brilliant details that become lifesavers under pressure. It's a reliable workhorse, ready to anchor your rhythm section night after night.

    • Battery Alert LED: No more mid-song power failures. A discreet LED on the back warns you when your 9-volt is running low, giving you ample time to swap it out before the next set.
    • Fail-Safe Passive Mode: Even if the battery does die, just flick the switch to passive mode and continue the groove without missing a beat.
    • High-Mass Die-Cast Bridge: This rugged bridge efficiently transfers string vibration to the body for rich, ringing sustain, while the 18mm string spacing leaves plenty of room for both fingerstyle funk and aggressive picking.

    The Ultimate Sonic Foundation

The Yamaha TRBX605FM isn't just another five-string bass; it's a versatile tool designed to make your life easier and your grooves deeper. It captures the soul of traditional luthiery while offering the modern features and flexibility today's gigging musicians demand. Strap it on, plug it in, and feel the power.

Yamaha TRBX605FM The Ultimate Sonic Foundation

    Yamaha TRBX605FM Features:

    • Solid alder body with a 3D-sculpted design for exceptional balance and playing comfort
    • A stunning flamed maple top that looks as good as it sounds
    • Sleek 5-piece maple/mahogany neck with a comfortable 43mm nut width
    • 34-inch scale length and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard for extended range
    • Dual custom Alnico V double-coil pickups deliver a punchy, articulate, and noise-free tone
    • Audiophile-grade 3-band active EQ lets you sculpt your sound with surgical precision
    • Active/Passive toggle switch offers ultimate tonal flexibility, from modern punch to vintage warmth. (In passive mode, the treble knob doubles as a classic passive tone control)
    • A rear-panel battery alert LED gives you a heads-up when power is low

BEAUTIFUL bass, I love the active electronics and playability, awesome sound. very light bass as well, MUCH lighter than my Jazz Bass or EBMM. I'd recommend this bass to anyone in the market that's trying to keep the cost under $1k. -CW

    I own two other TRBs

I own two other TRBs so I had high hopes for this one. I looked at the online reviews and videos that gave this bass very high marks. That's what made me pull the trigger. When this one arrived, the Yamaha circular logo/badge on the head stock was missing. I started to stop right there and send it b...

    TRBX605FM

Needed an upgrade from my old RBX765A and found TRBX605FM to be very affordable and worth every penny! I am a pro bass player and will be featuring this bass on my summer tour. While some guys may look at this bass as not high quality or a beginners bass, you don’t have to. I use it with an Ampeg po...

Great bass, not just for the price

Bought this bass for gigging as I was not going to take a boutique USA Made 6-String to a gig where it could get damaged. The neck had a bit of a backbow, but after adjusting that, the bridge was intonated and all, so must be just the climate change from shipping to my place. Great woods, pickups, a...

Q: First, it's very aggravating you DO NOT include a gig bag. So my question is how long is the over all bass from the top of the headstock to the strap button an the body.

A: The scale length is 34", but sadly, Yamaha does not have any information available for the exact dimensions of the body.
