Cameron has been into music for, well... ever. He started playing saxophone in 4th grade band and continued throughout the rest of his school career and into college, playing in wind ensembles, concert bands, marching bands, jazz bands, and really any band that would take a sax player.

In high school (after an intense stint with Guitar Hero) he decided to pick up the guitar. He took a few lessons and was instantly hooked with the versatility of the instrument. He learned a few chords, plucked up some courage to sing, bought a PA system, and started gigging around town, which he still does almost 20 years later.

In 2012, he met a guy who built guitars and was looking for an apprentice. Obviously, Cameron jumped at the chance and became an amateur luthier. He now has roughly a dozen builds under his belt. And if you ask him anything about tonewoods, pickups, tuners, build materials, or anything else related to guitar construction, he will nerd out until you literally walk away.

Today, Cameron is the Managing Editor and Copywriter for American Musical Supply. He brings his decades of musical experience and colloquial writing style to help people find the perfect gear to suit their needs — and maybe enjoy a little entertainment along the way. He's always on the lookout for weird new instruments to learn.

When he's not typing away at a keyboard or correcting people's grammar mistakes (whether they ask for it or not), you'll typically find Cameron with his beloved Martin HD-28 in hand playing acoustic versions of rock, country, bluegrass, and even hip-hop songs. He loves to swap and blend styles to make ridiculous versions of popular tunes.
